While we operate from India, our servers are housed in US data centers where the bandwidth is lot cheaper compared to Indian data centers. We are able to procure better hardware and cheaper bandwidth from US network providers and we are passing on the benefits to our clients!

As you are aware of etechindia.net is already offering very cheap prices. By opting for a free service, you are not guaranteed of resources and the providers may want a link back to their website or display advertisements on your website to compensate for their generosity. This will have a very bad user experience for your website users who are put off by seeing advertisements and resort to abandoning your website or using aggressive ad-blockers which may block even legitimate content at times such as Google Maps JavaScript as it is an external resource and this results in a non-functional website!

If you are from India, we accept payment through PayUMoney gateway in which you can buy with your debit card or credit card or net banking accounts. If you are from any other country, we accept payment through PayPal gateway. You will be automatically redirected to any of the gateway according to your currency selection!

Yes we have 10 different options for the currency, you can select your currency from the top bar of the website. If our country currency is not available in the list, please let us know through submit ticket. We will try our best to add that currency as soon as possible in the list for your convenience!

Once you make the payment towards your invoice, your order will be provisioned automatically and you will receive an email with your account details from our system – even at 3 AM in the morning!

Our system generates the cPanel account username at the time of automatic provisioning of the account. However, if you would like it changed, we may oblige to the your request if we believe the username is a cause of security concern!

Yes, we offer PHP5 and PHP7 on all our shared hosting servers!

Yes, all our servers support either MySQL 5.7 or greater or MariaDB 10.1 or greater!

Yes, we allow FTP access and you need to ensure PASV (passive FTP) mode is enabled on your client. We recommend using FTPS (FTP over SSL) or SFTP if available in your FTP client!

Yes, you can whitelist the IP from your cPanel account and keep us informed of the remote IP address!

Yes, all our servers support MySQLi and PDO extensions. We do not support the depreciated native MySQL PHP extension!

We do not offer this on Shared web hosting but if you have specific requirements, we will provision the same on a VPS!

As the error says, this means there is difficulty trying to connect to the Wordpress blog database. This could be due to various reasons.

i. If you are seeing it for the first time or after a migration, it could be due to incorrect credentials supplied in wp-config.php.

ii. If you are using your blog normally and see this message all of a sudden, it could be due to MySQL restriction on the number of concurrent connections / users being reached.

iii.It could also be that your Wordpress database might be corrupted or crashed due to malware attack. We will repair your crashed / corrupted tables.

iv. There could be an issue with the MySQL server / service and might need a restart to fix it.

Either case, you should be having a recent backup and will need to contact us with a copy of your backup to have this resolved.!

Yes, if you are unable to use a FTP client to upload your files, please use the File Manager option available in your cPanel account. You can upload existing files or create new files from here!

We recommend using one of the following free to use FTP clients:

i. CoreFTP client is an easy to use FTP client. It can be downloaded from: http://www.coreftp.com/

ii. FileZilla client is another popular FTP client It can be downloaded from https://filezilla-project.org!

You will find a directory public_html under your account root. Any files and directories that are uploaded to this location are accessible on the internet!

You can consider sub domains a sub division of your domain name. Ex: You can create hello.example.com if you own example.com and are hosting this domain with us. You can provide a sub domain to each team under your organisation so they can upload and manage their respective content!

You will find an icon with the title ‘Sub Domains’ under your cPanel Home. Once you click it, you will be asked to

i. Enter the desired prefix in the Subdomain text box

ii. Select the desired parent / main domain under the dropdown

iii. Assign a home / root directory under your account

iv. Click on the Create button to create the sub domain!

cPanel provides Full Account Backup under Backups section. You would first generate the complete account backup from the old provider, download it and upload It to your account with us. Once you upload the file to your account root, submit a ticket and we will restore it for you!

You will need to log into cPanel and proceed to File Manager or log in to your account using an FTP client. and navigate into /etc directory

i. You will find a directory with the same name as your domain containing the email accounts list. Copy these to the same directory under your new account with us under /etc/

ii. You will then navigate into /mail directory and copy its contents to /mail directory of your new account with etechindia.net!

Once you log in to your cPanel account, search for Add-on domains.

i. Then enter your second domain name in the New Domain Name text box.

ii. Provide FTP username and password (this is optional) if you need to provide access to someone else exclusively for this domain and files hosted under it.

iii. Click Add Domain!

Once you login to your cPanel account, search for Directory Privacy

i. Then navigate to the directory that needs protection

ii. Set a predefined message and add a user

iii. Add the user to Authorized users and click on Save to save changes!

You can either add a index.html or index.php file to prevent directory listing or disable directory indexing from cPanel Home >> Advanced >> Indexes.

i. Then navigate to the desired directory and click on it to select

ii. Then select No Indexing and click Save. This option configures the server to not list the contents of the directory. Browsers display a message that states that the contents are forbidden if there is no index.html or .index.php file in that directory!

Softaculous is an easy to use script manager available in your cPanel account that makes installation or upgrading of over 200 scripts and software very easy!

WordPress is open source web software that you can install on your web server to create your website, blog, community, or network. WordPress started out as a tool for blogging, but has evolved into a full-fledged Content Management System (CMS), capable of powering websites, networks, and communities!

Once you log in to your cPanel account, search for Softaculous under Software / Services

i. Then type Wordpress into the search box on the top right of the Softaculous homepage.

ii. Then click on Wordpress from the search result dropdown and proceed to install

iii. If you intend to install multiple copies of Wordpress blogs, it would be helpful to create a custom database table prefix to identify the installation from phpMyAdmin later!

Once you log in to your cPanel account, search for Softaculous under Software / Services

i. Then locate All Installations on the top-right corner of the page.

ii. You will notice two blue arrows if Softaculous has a newer version of the application. Then hover on the arrows to know the version details and click on it to upgrade Wordpress or any other application!

Once you log in to your cPanel account, search for Softaculous under Software / Services

i. Then locate All Installations on the top-right corner of the page.

ii. You will notice X (remove icon in red colour) to the right of each installed application. Click it to confirm by clicking on Remove Installation button on the popup asking for confirmation of removal of the application!

Once you log in to your cPanel account, search for Softaculous under Software / Services

i. Select the application / script that you would like to import and click on Import tab.

ii. Select the protocol (http:// usually), domain and the directory and click on Import button!

Once you log in to your cPanel account, search for Softaculous under Software / Services

i. Then type Wordpress into the search box on the top right of the Softaculous homepage.

ii. Then click on Wordpress from the search result dropdown.

iii. Select the Auto-upgrade checkbox under Advanced Options under Installation settings

iv. Then proceed to install as normal!

Softaculous will check for updates one in every 24 hours and if there is an update available, your blog will be updated immediately!

If an automated upgrade causes you problem, you can roll back the upgrade. To rollback, log in to your cPanel account, search for Softaculous under Software / Services

i. Then click on the Backup / Restore link on the top right of the Softaculous homepage.

ii. Then click on Restore (reverse arrow) icon.

iii. Confirm that you want to restore both the files and database by clicking on Restore installation button!

Once you log in to your cPanel account, search for Softaculous under Software / Services

i. Click on Email Settings at the top of the Softaculous home page

ii. Click on the email input field to specify / edit the email address used for email notifications

iii. Click on Edit Email Settings to save changes.!

A full account backup generated by cPanel contains all your files, databases, emails, visitor logs and other information related to your cPanel account!

Your website remains always online normally. However, at times, there might be attacks or hacking attempts on your website due to security flaws in your website coding or installed scripts / applications. This can result in a malfunctioning website. Keeping recent backups at all times will help in recovering the data and preventing major data loss and downtime!

Once you log in to your cPanel account, search for Backup under Files section.

i. Then click on Download a Full Website Backup button under Full Backup

ii. Then select the Home Directory as the backup destination and click on Generate Backup button to initiate backup generation

iii. You will see a "Full Backup in Progress..." message confirming the backup is happening in background!

Once you log in to your cPanel account, search for Backup under Files section.

i. Then click on Download a Home Directory Backup under Home Directory!

Once you log in to your cPanel account, search for Backup under Files section.

i. Then click on Download a MySQL Database Backup followed by selecting the respective MySQL database you wish to backup!

You will need to upload the full account backup to your account root directory and submit a ticket with the filename and we will restore it for you. You will not be able to restore it yourself from cPanel!

Once you log in to your cPanel account, search for Backup under Files section.

i. Then click on Restore a Home Directory Backup under Home Directory

ii. Then click Choose File and select the backup archive

iii. Then click Upload to start restoring the backup!

Once you log in to your cPanel account, search for Backup under Files section.

i. Then click on Restore a MySQL Database Backup

ii. Then click Choose File and select the backup archive

iii. Then click Upload to start restoring the backup.

Alternatively, you may restore the database backup selectively from phpMyAdmin under Databases section of cPanel!

The restore time depends on the size of the site you're restoring. It can take as little as one minute up to 30 minutes!

If we restored a full account backup for you, there would be no need to reissue your certificate. If your cPanel account was reset on your request, you will need to submit a reissue request for the certificate and install the same after restoring your website!
